Privacy, in plain language.

TuneFacet is designed to be useful before you connect anything. Here is exactly what changes when you save a draft or enable live Spotify mode.

Public sample mode

You can use TuneFacet without an account. The catalogue is fictional. If you save a draft, TuneFacet assigns this browser a random identifier in a secure cookie and stores the draft in its database. It does not use the cookie for advertising or cross-site tracking.

Optional Spotify connection

Live mode is available only to Spotify accounts explicitly approved for this development app. TuneFacet requests the minimum permissions needed to read your own top tracks and playlists and to create a private playlist. It does not request your email address and does not calculate taste scores, mood profiles, benchmarks, or inferred attributes.

What is stored

TuneFacet stores an encrypted Spotify access token and refresh token, the account identifier required to maintain the session, and any live draft you deliberately save. Spotify catalogue responses are otherwise requested when needed and are not used to train or prompt an AI model.

Deletion and retention

The Disconnect control deletes the server-side Spotify session and saved live drafts immediately. Spotify refresh access also expires under Spotify’s own rules. Sample drafts remain associated with this browser until you delete them from Saved drafts or clear the site data.

Sharing and security

TuneFacet does not sell personal information. It sends requests to Spotify only when live mode is connected and uses its hosting provider for application storage and delivery. Tokens are encrypted at rest, session cookies are HTTP-only, and every saved draft is scoped to its browser or connected account.

Independent project

TuneFacet is an independent portfolio project and is not endorsed by Spotify. Spotify links, metadata, and artwork remain subject to Spotify’s terms. This notice will be updated if the project’s data practices change.
